Helping San Francisco Bay Area Families Connect, Honor & Remember Since 1888.

We offer unique opportunities for families to create healing moments after loss. Our experience, coupled with our perspective on the importance of ceremony, will help you discover ways to pay tribute. Whether traditional or unique, these tributes allow us to love, laugh, and live well again.

Honoring the dead

Samuel Merritt University students in Oakland, CA hold memorials for cadavers. UCSF and their Willed Body Program, which supplies cadavers for about 50 schools, research groups and emergency medical education programs in Northern California, normally holds memorials after the programs are finished with the cadavers. However, Samuel Merritt University students have taken it upon themselves to host a memorial for the cadavers; including writing letters, cards, speaking about the deceased, and even has plans to plant a memorial tree for all of the cadavers they have/will work with.

We definitely love with the way the school is going about doing things. It takes a lot of courage to band together and give the cadavers a proper remembrance, especially when their focus is their schooling. It is the dignity and courage of this group of individuals that speaks volumes of the people involved in the program.
